About us

Misty Research was founded in March 2024 by Jake Reynolds. We provide deep, unbiased insights of the cybersecurity market, helping cyber leaders find the perfect options for their program.

Prior to founding Misty Research, Jake held several leadership roles at NetSPI, a global offensive security company. His responsibilities included:

• Head of Product for their first SaaS platform, Penetration Testing as a Service
• Head of Emerging Technology for their Attack Surface Management product, from writing the first ten thousand lines of code to seven figures in ARR
• Reporting on industry trends to the Board of Directors and industry analysts
• Identifying new markets and opportunities for the company

While doing this work, he realized the need for a platform that contains every single cybersecurity company, and quantitative data on them, to help security leaders make informed decisions.

We're proudly self-funded and independent. We believe that is core to providing unbiased data to our customers. We are headquartered in the North Loop of Minneapolis, MN.
